International Advocacy & Accountability
IDCTE's advocacy runs through the institutions where international accountability is decided. We engage the UN Human Rights Council and the OHCHR in Geneva ahead of key sessions, meet with Members of the European Parliament to press for an international inquiry into the genocide and for the withdrawal of Sri Lanka's GSP+ trade privileges, and brief Members of Parliament and foreign service officials across Europe, the United States, and beyond.
Alongside advocacy, our research work supplies policymakers with fact-based reports on structural genocide, militarization, and Sinhalization — evidence intended to inform foreign policy toward Sri Lanka and to build the international case for accountability. Visit Our Work to read more about how we do this.
This page is a starting overview. IDCTE will expand it with more detail on specific advocacy outcomes.
